Vatten- och avloppssystem

Vatten är världens viktigaste livsmedel. Därför är det viktigt att vi hittar gemensamma standarder för hantering av dricksvattnet samt omhändertagandet av det vatten som hamnar i avloppet. Kommittén verkar därmed för att ta fram standarder för både vatten- och avloppssystem.

Kommittén ansvarar för standarder avseende produkter, som kommer att användas av tillverkningsindustrin, på sanitets- och avloppsområdet och i många fall som referenser för CE-märkning. Andra standarder vänder sig exempelvis till projektörer av ledningsnät och ytterligare några kommer att ha kommunala VA-verk som huvudsakliga användare.

Påverka nationellt och internationellt

Kommittén skapar ett forum för svenskt agerande i den europeiska standardiseringen, genom att vi aktivt medverkar i den europeiska standardiseringsorganisationen CEN och den globala standardiseringsorganisationen ISO.

Under kommittéarbetet utbyts erfarenheter mellan länder samtidigt som deltagarna får ta del av hur andra länder arbetar. Detta påverkar självfallet resultatet eftersom den svenska kommittén deltar i olika arbetsgrupper på europeisk och global nivå samt svarar på remisser. Desto mer aktiv den svenska kommittén är genom att delta på internationella möten, desto större inflytande får kommittén på utformningen av morgondagens standarder.

Ett värdefullt arbete

I kommittén samlas expertkunskap genom representanter från tillverkare, föreskrivare, brukare, provningsföretag eller övriga inom branschen. Standardiseringsarbetet ger deltagarna djupare insikt om standardernas krav och hur man resonerar kring dessa, vilket underlättar vid diskussion med olika parter inom branschen. Deltagarna är samtidigt med och påverkar framtidens standarder, vilket också leder till nya insikter och tidig information som kan omsättas i den egna verksamhetsutvecklingen.
